DIRECTORATE OF EVALUATION

The Directorate of Evaluation, under the Planning and Development Department, Government of Bihar, is dedicated to assessing the performance and impact of development schemes across the state. Established in 2009, it ensures evidence-based policymaking through independent and systematic evaluations. The Directorate operates through its head office in Patna and five divisional offices, supported by the State Evaluation Committee comprising senior officials and experts. Evaluations are conducted internally and via empanelled agencies as per Bihar Financial Rules. It also undertakes regular research studies, training and capacity-building programmes to strengthen the evaluation ecosystem within the state.
